Magnetic Sign Care & Terms of Use
Please read the following instructions carefully. By applying these magnetic signs, you accept all responsibility for their usage and maintenance.
1. Application Guidelines (How to Apply Safely)
-
Surface Preparation: Both the vehicle surface and the back of the magnetic sign must be perfectly clean, dry, and free of dirt, dust, and rust.
-
Avoid Wax Residue: If the van has been recently waxed, ensure it is fully cured (usually 2+ days).
-
Placement: Place the sign on a flat, smooth steel surface. Avoid sharp curves, molding, pin stripes, decals, or air intakes.
-
No Sliding: Do not slide the magnet across the paint. Position it and let it "grab." Sliding can trap dirt and scratch the paintwork.
-
Smooth Contact: Ensure the entire surface is flat against the van with no air pockets, wrinkles, or bumps that could catch the wind.
-
Temperature: Apply at room temperature. Avoid applying to hot or freezing cold surfaces.
2. Regular Maintenance (To Protect Paintwork)
-
Weekly Removal: Remove the signs at least once a week (or after every rain/snowfall) to clean and dry both the magnet and the van surface.
-
Prevent Rust/Water Retention: Moisture trapped behind the sign can cause damage. Wiping down ensures the paint breathes.
-
Prevent Fading: Periodically remove the sign to allow sunlight to even out the UV fading on the vehicle paint.
3. Safety Warnings (To Prevent Loss)
-
Speed Limitations: These signs are designed for normal driving, but high speeds (motorway/highway driving) can cause them to lift.
-
Car Washes: Always remove magnets before entering an automated car wash.
-
Hot Weather: In extreme heat, magnets can become "stuck" to paintwork. Remove them daily in high temperatures.
4. Storage
-
Store Flat: When not in use, store signs on a flat metal surface (e.g., a filing cabinet).
-
Never Fold: Never fold or heavily roll the signs, as this will damage the magnetic layer.
5. LIABILITY DISCLAIMER
-
Griffin Signs & Print Ltd is not responsible for any damage to the vehicle's paintwork, rust formation, or loss of the magnetic sign due to improper application, failure to maintain the sign, or driving in extreme weather conditions.
